| Soaring Eagle Organic Farms – Lee and Cindy Quaintance and their son, Nathan, live in southwest Johnson County Kansas, near Edgerton. They farm approximately 400 acres with a variety of crops are grown including spelt, wheat, corn, clover seed, soybeans, barley, sorghum and buckwheat. Cattle and chickens are also raised. Honeybees live on the farm to insure better pollination.Lee is a fourth generation farmer who grew up near Gardner, Kansas. Cindy grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and moved to the farm when they got married. They are both active in their community and church. In their spare time they do living history demonstrations, volunteer with the Amateur Radio Emergency Services as ham radio operators, and are storm spotters for the Emergency Communication Service.Lee and Cindy believe that sustainable and organic farming is the appropriate approach to being good stewards of the land. They continue to make efforts to establish a healthy family farm for our generation and future generations. |  |
